We are a small breeder located in East Central
Illinois. We are conveniently located 132 miles south of Chicago and 90 miles
west of Indianapolis.
Canis Major strives to produce beautiful
and intelligent terriers with joyful temperaments and correct conformation.
Our unique combination of some of the oldest bloodlines and most respected
breeders in the U.S. and Great Britain have led to our consistent and
successful type of which Canis Major terriers are known.
Both Pet/Companion and show terriers from Canis Major
reside across the U.S. where they are involved in agility, racing, show, and working. They have appeared in
advertisements for Wahl Clippers, Target Stores and in a Harris Bank television commerical. They have appeared
on Animal Planet channel in Dogs 101, the Jack Russell.
All of our terriers are loyal and loving
companions. All breeding terriers are BAER normal and annually CERF tested.
Our terriers are never kenneled. Whether your interests are to interact
with your terriers in activities such as agility, hiking, swimming or
simply a walk in the park or curling up on the couch, a Jack Russell can be
a wonderful companion.
All puppies are born, raised and socialized in our home
with our terriers and family. We strive to place our terriers in loving lifetime homes.
All Pet/Companion terriers must be spayed or neutered.
All Canis Major stud dogs are currently standing
at stud to approved females.
