We are a small breeder located in East Central Illinois. We are close to Wisconsin, Indiana, Kentucky, Iowa, Missouri and Ohio. We are conveniently located 132 miles south of Chicago and 90 miles west of Indianapolis.

Canis Major strives to produce beautiful and intelligent terriers with joyful temperaments and correct conformation. Our unique combination of some of the oldest bloodlines and most respected breeders in the U.S. and Great Britain have led to our consistent and successful type of which Canis Major terriers are known.

All of our terriers are loyal and loving companions. All breeding terriers are BAER normal and annually CERF tested. Our terriers are never kenneled. Whether your interests are to interact with your terriers in activities such as agility, hiking, swimming or simply a walk in the park or curling up on the couch, a Jack Russell can be a wonderful companion.

Puppies that are born in our home are raised and socialized with our terriers and family.

All Canis Major stud dogs are currently standing at stud to approved females.
